I graduated with a Math degree from Newberry College.  I had a concentration in middle level and secondary education.  While at the college, I was a tutor and a Teachers Assistant. I love to attend conferences because I get to become a student again and learn new strategies to implement in the classroom.

I grew up in Irmo, South Carolina, where I attended Dutch Fork High School.  I then continued my education at Newberry College, where I graduated with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Mathematics with a concentration in Secondary Education and a Middle Level add-on.  I have always had a desire to teach mathematics ever since my sixth grade year because of a teacher who inspired me to become an effective educator just like herself.  Since then, I have taken every opportunity available to follow in her footsteps and achieve my goal of becoming an effective teacher.  I took the first steps in my own journey through the Teacher Cadet program at Dutch Fork High School.  I continued on with my journey and eventually became a South Carolina Teaching Fellow at Newberry College.  I have also had many other opportunities while at Newberry College to strengthen myself as a teacher, such as receiving the Robert Noyce Scholarship, becoming a Teacher's aid for a College Algebra Course, being a Student Assistant for the Dance Team, tutoring students and joining organizations to show my leadership and willingness to get involved.  In attending a small liberal arts college, it has provided me with unforgettable experiences by building relationships with professors and providing opportunities to strengthen my knowledge.
