WRESTLING TEAM SENIOR NIGHT HONORS KENNY PAGE

Kenny Page was recognized at the Wrestling Team Senior Night.  Kenny is our only senior this year. 

Kenny was joined  by his Dad Kenneth Page Sr., his Mom Mary Ellen Page.  Kenny began wrestling as a freshman and has wrestled all four seasons of high school.  As a freshman, Kenny won the Region 2-A championship in the 120 lb. weight class and finished the season with a record of 22 – 9.  During his sophomore season, Kenny finished 3rd at the Woodmont Wildcat Invitational Tournament, he finished 2nd at the SC 2A Upperstate Individual Tournament, qualified for the state wrestling tournament and finished the season with a record of 27 – 7.  During his junior season, Kenny helped lead the team to qualify for the SC 2A Upperstate Team Tournament, Kenny finished 3rd at the Woodmont Wildcat Invitational Tournament, he finished 3rd at the TL Hanna Jacket Invitational Tournament, he finished 3rd at the SC 2A Upperstate Individual tournament once again qualifying him to wrestle in the individual state tournament and he finished the season with a record of 26 – 5 in the 138lb. weight class.  This season, Kenny finished 1st at the Woodmont Wildcat Invitational Tournament, he finished 1st in the TL Hanna Jacket Invitational Tournament, he finished 2nd at the Newberry County Classic Individual Tournament and so far this season Kenny holds a record of 35 – 2.  

If all of this weren’t enough, Kenny continues to add to the team records that he holds.  Kenny has the record for the best winning percentage in a freshman season (71%).  Kenny is the first and only wrestler to reach 100 career wins and he continues to add to that record which currently stands at 108.  Kenny holds the record for the most wins in a single season.  Kenny holds the record for the highest career winning percentage which currently stands at 83%.  Kenny holds the record for most career wins by pinfall.

After high school, Kenny plans to wrestle at the college level and study education and become a wrestling coach.  We wish him the best in all
